Discover Blue Therapy: Deep Nervous System Reset and Whole-Body Healing, Harnessing the Power of Water.

Blue Therapy is more than just a swim or a spa treatment, it’s a signature healing modality I’ve developed that harnesses the proven power of blue spaces to deliver targeted, science-backed transformation.

What Is Blue Therapy?

Blue Therapy is a one-of-a-kind, ocean-immersed experience that combines the ancient wisdom of water healing with cutting-edge insights from neuroscience, physiology, and movement therapy. Drawing directly from Dr. Wallace J. Nichols’ groundbreaking Blue Mind research, it taps into the mildly meditative state our brains naturally enter near, in, on, or under water. This “Blue Mind” state quiets the stressed mind, lowers cortisol, slows the heart and breathing rates, and floods us with calm, creativity, connection, and awe.

But I don’t stop at the mental benefits. Blue Therapy actively engages your body’s most powerful healing systems through intentional movement on land and in the water’s supportive environment. It’s gentle yet deeply effective, perfect for high-achievers, wellness seekers, and anyone craving true restoration.

The Science Behind the Magic

Here’s what makes Blue Therapy unlike anything else:

Blue Spaces & Blue Mind: Decades of research show that time in natural water environments dramatically reduces anxiety, boosts mood, enhances emotional resilience, and even supports physical recovery. Proximity to the ocean promotes calmness, better sleep, and a profound sense of wellbeing that urban life simply can’t match.

Vagus Nerve Reset: I’ll take you through gentle proven movements that will reset your vagus nerve – the superhighway of your parasympathetic nervous system, giving you a sense of deep calm. This instantly shifts you out of fight-or-flight, improves heart-rate variability, calms inflammation, supports gut health, and leaves you feeling grounded and resilient long after the session ends.

Vestibular Activation: Through simple Brain Dance techniques, the vestibular system is activated. This strengthens your inner-ear balance system, plus balances and connects your brain hemispheres. This recalibrates your sense of stability, reduces dizziness or unsteadiness, and builds quiet confidence in your body’s natural equilibrium.

Brain Activation: Blue Mind isn’t passive, the sensory richness of water environments (sound, smell, shifting light) lights up neural pathways for focus, creativity, and emotional regulation like few other environments can.

Spinal Activation & Organ Healing: Buoyancy in the water allows your spine to decompress and realign naturally while gentle yoga movements on land restore fluid flow through your core. This supports organ function, reduces stagnation, and invites deep internal healing.

Lymph Drainage & Mild Resistance Training: The hydrostatic pressure of the water acts like a full-body compression garment, while the natural resistance of every movement pumps lymph fluid up to 300% more efficiently. At the same time, you’re getting low-impact, full-body conditioning that builds strength without strain – flushing toxins, reducing swelling, and energizing every cell.

Together, these elements create a cascade of healing that touches mind, body, and spirit in one seamless session.

What a Blue Therapy Session Feels Like

Each private or small-group session is tailored to you. We meet at a beautiful waterscape, and flow through guided breath work, gentle floating, and purposeful movements. You’ll feel the water support you completely, while I cue activations that unlock tension, restore flow, and awaken vitality. Many clients describe leaving the water feeling “reborn”: lighter, clearer, more alive, with a deep nervous-system reset that lasts for days or weeks.

Now Offered Island-Wide on Maui

I’m currently thrilled to offer Blue Therapy sessions across all of Maui. Inquire to find a session near you. Whether you’re a local seeking regular resets or a visitor craving the ultimate wellness immersion, these sessions are designed to meet you exactly where you are. I’m available for special events, retreats, and concerts, large group sessions can be accommodated.

Ready to Elevate Your Retreat or Spa Offering?

If you run or program an elite luxury resort, private villa retreat, or high-end wellness destination anywhere in the world, I’d love to bring Blue Therapy to your guests as a paid special guest practitioner. These exclusive pop-up sessions or signature programming blocks create instant buzz, differentiate your brand, and deliver results your clients will never forget.

Spots for 2026–2027 are filling fast. The water is calling, and the most visionary hosts are answering. Reach out today to discuss bringing Blue Therapy to your property. Let’s create magic together in the world’s most beautiful blue spaces.

Many blessings and aloha!

Horses and More: Heart Healing Through Simple, Joyful Practices

In our busy lives, true heart healing often comes from unexpected places, gentle connections that calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and boost the “love hormone” oxytocin. Research highlights how interactions with horses can play a powerful role in this process, while everyday activities like listening to Spanish guitar, singing, laughter, speaking Italian (yes Italian resonates the heart more than any other language), expressing gratitude, and sharing 20-second hugs offer complementary paths to emotional and physical renewal.

The Heart-Healing Power of Horses

Horses have an extraordinary ability to support human emotional well-being. Equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) have been studied for their effects on heart rate variability (HRV)—a key marker of nervous system balance and stress resilience. Many studies show that time spent with horses promotes parasympathetic activation (the body’s “rest and digest” mode), leading to greater relaxation and improved HRV in participants.

Horses’ large hearts generate a powerful electromagnetic field, and research suggests that human-horse interactions can help synchronize heart rhythms, fostering emotional regulation and calm. Interacting with these gentle giants often increases oxytocin levels – the bonding hormone associated with trust, reduced anxiety, and better mood. Even without riding, simply being present with a horse – grooming, standing quietly, or sharing space, can lower heart rate and create a profound sense of connection. Horses mirror our energy with remarkable sensitivity, helping us shift from tension to presence. If you get a chance I highly recommend the documentary film Rescued Hearts, which will be streaming until April 8th- https://www.rescuedheartsfilm.com/aprilvirtual This is a beautiful deeper look into the world of healing with horses.

Everyday Ways to Boost Oxytocin and Heal the Heart

Here are a few more research-supported practices that can also elevate oxytocin and support heart health:

Spanish Guitar & Music: Listening to or playing soothing music, like the melodic strums of a Spanish guitar, triggers oxytocin release and reduces cortisol (the stress hormone). It creates a calming backdrop that soothes the nervous system and lifts the spirit.

Samba Music: The vibrant, percussive rhythms of samba bring an extra layer of heart healing. Often described as the heartbeat of Brazil, samba’s lively beat closely mimics the natural rhythm of a healthy, energized heart. This rhythmic entrainment can help synchronize your own heartbeat, boost mood through joyful movement, and trigger the release of feel-good chemicals like oxytocin and endorphins – turning music into an uplifting form of emotional and physical medicine.

Singing: Whether alone or in a group, singing boosts oxytocin, dopamine, and endorphins. Group singing, in particular, enhances feelings of connection and social bonding. Consider joining a local choir.

Laughter: Shared laughter releases a cascade of feel-good chemicals, including oxytocin, while lowering stress and improving mood. It’s nature’s quick reset for the heart. Watch comedies, and have a joke or two on hand to provoke a laugh anytime.

Speaking Italian: Research in music therapy showed that the Italian language resonates the heart more than any other language. This localized vibration right on your heart produces heart healing effects.

Expressing Gratitude: Taking time to voice thanks strengthens social bonds and naturally elevates oxytocin. It shifts focus toward positivity and emotional safety.

20-Second Hugs: Science confirms that a hug lasting about 20 seconds is long enough to significantly increase oxytocin levels and decrease cortisol. This simple act promotes trust, lowers blood pressure, and creates a deep sense of safety and warmth.

Gift Giving: Gift giving has been shown to cause joy from both parties. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to give gifts. A small bouquet of flowers or herbs from your garden, a homemade treat or meal, a drawing on pretty paper with kind words, even an avocado from your tree in the yard make a perfect gift. People also love receiving a message with a meme or video that makes them laugh.

Bringing It All Together

Imagine combining these elements: spending quiet time with a horse while soft Spanish guitar or lively samba plays in the background, sharing laughter with friends, singing a favorite melody, offering genuine gratitude, and ending the day with a heartfelt 20-second hug. Each practice gently supports the heart – physically through better HRV and relaxation, emotionally through bonding and reduced stress.

Whether you have access to horses or not, these heart-healing tools are accessible. They remind us that healing often lies in presence, touch, sound, and connection rather than complexity. Start small today: Play some Spanish guitar or upbeat samba, hug someone (or yourself!) for a full 20 seconds, or simply pause to express gratitude. Your heart will thank you.

Blessings,

Zoe

Coziness permeates my life, it’s actually my lifestyle. I recently learned about the Scandinavian term hygge (pronounced hoo ga). The simplest way to define hygge is what we call cozy in English. I was thrilled to learn that in Scandinavian countries this is a vibe or feeling that all aspire to create and live in their daily lives. It is even deeper than that as its core meaning is to turn mundane tasks into blissful experiences – rejoicing in simplicity.

I believe that if everyone adopted a hygge lifestyle the health benefits would be astounding. When coziness gets woven into all parts of your life, everything gets a bit lighter, easier, softer, more comfortable, and maybe even more beautiful.

The Danes entire culture is based on hygge. They say it is about finding joy in the simple things in life. It could be as simple as having a cup of tea while watching the sun rise, reading a book by the fire, listening to the birds sing while writing in a journal or having a special meal with family and friends.

I like to create cozy vibes with cooking bliss. Cooking dinner is a sacred ritual for me. I light candles, put on my favorite apron, play my Medieval Vibes playlist on Spotify, and pour a glass of wine, make a cup of tea or make my recent favorite – a mix of lilikoi juice, coconut water and Pellegrino on the rocks. I also love to make the table setting beautiful with beeswax candles, fresh flowers or herbs from the garden, and pretty cloth napkins. All meals start with a prayer of gratitude: We thank all of the people, plants and animals who brought us this food, please let it nourish our body, so be it.

As a child my mother made our home so cozy during the Christmas season. We would all decorate the tree together, a wreath went on the front door and lights went around all of the windows. On our dining room table she spread out all kinds of sweet treats and the obligatory bowl of mixed nuts with the nutcracker next to it. Stockings were hung up by the fireplace. During the whole month of December my brother and I would enjoy hot cocoa and Christmas cartoons in our pine scented family room, basking in the glow of the tree lights.

How can you make one mundane task a cozy experience? I’d love to hear your stories. Wishing you a safe, healthy, beautiful and cozy holiday season. Blessings, Zoe

“Wherever a dancer stands is holy ground.”- Martha Graham

My body always danced. I couldn’t stop it. Everyone can dance, but not everyone is a dancer. You know you are a dancer if you can NOT keep your body still when you hear music. Something physical happens to you. Your cells absorb and merge with the music, a marriage happens. You accept it, let it in, welcome it…the music, your divine lover. It matters not the beat, the genre, the melody, you become one and you surrender to how the music wants to move you. It is intimate, it’s a prayer, and a meditation.

I’ve studied many types of dance. They all have a different feeling and have their own music. My three favorites are ballet, salsa rueda and hula.

Ballet – To my visual cortex a ballerina appears to be angelic, to take flight, to defy gravity. When dancing, it feels rigid and structured on your body, it is pure disciplined graceful strength. Your focus is up to the heavens. As a ballet dancer your strength will double, triple even, as you propel yourself into the air, then landing ever so softly. It is akin to a superpower.

Salsa Rueda – Salsa rueda is a Cuban partner dance done in a circle. It feels earthy, sexy and communal. As you switch partners every few seconds you look into another set of eyes, touch new hands, and smile at a new face. The music is fun. Everyone has permagrin and you hear laughing throughout. As a woman/follow I am led by the man/lead – he twirls me, catches me, moves me around like a play thing and I let him. He is in charge and taking care of me while we dance. I surrender to him. All I can say is this feels amazing.

Hula – This is a sacred Hawaiian dance with song or chant. It tells a poetic story and it can also be for entertainment or sacred rite. When I dance hula I feel my heart crack open. Sometimes I even get teary eyed as it moves heavy emotions out of my body. Hula is done barefoot. You feel the Earth absorb everything and transmute all back into light. I float like a wave, literally syncing with the tempo and rhythms of Earth itself. You become the flow. You mimic mother ocean, the wind, the trees. It’s like you become a channel for all living things as you impart the message through your hands.

If you are an expecting mama join me for my online prenatal yoga and dance class where we learn birth specific yoga and ancient dance movements that were used during birth to help ease babies into the world – this is the original form of childbirth education. I combine movements from brain dancing, ballet, hula, Egypt, Greece, and Persia. All of my students tell me this is their favorite prenatal class. You can now stream anytime.

When I am asked “what do you do?,” sometimes I am not sure what to say because I “do” many things. I teach and consult on a variety of topics. I also redesign and organize peoples homes and businesses. I’ve narrowed my expertise to three main “categories” – women’s health during the childbearing year, home sanctuary design and teaching heirloom memoir workshops. What do these topics all have in common? At first it might not seem obvious, and many find my work elusive. So I decided to give a simple explanation of how I see all of my work as a single cohesive unit.

My goal is to bring more happiness to alI families and help them step into sacred living. This means honoring self, family and community, celebrating rites of passage and encouraging a life filled with beauty. I take enormous amounts of information and condense it into easy digestible healing systems. I take healing modalities from across the globe and present them, ready made for a wide audience. What I teach are Human Truths – concepts and techniques that work regardless of your belief systems or cultural heritage.

My work offers information and guidance for individuals who aim to create a sacred family life.

Birth & Postpartum Health – Starting with the motherhood journey, my classes, workshops and consultations give women tools for relieving discomfort, healing, bonding with their babies, and creating a sense of wellness and calm. I teach women how to celebrate motherhood and create a sacred experience every step of the way.

Sanctuary Design – My work as a professional organizer goes way above and beyond an ordinary organizer. I offer therapy level organizing and help people design a sanctuary to live in, a space that HEALS in every sense of that word. I make sure all of your senses feel balanced and at peace in your space. I want you to have a home where your family can thrive, you feel comfortable, safe, it’s beautiful, clean, efficient and has that special cozy vibe that makes a house a home – Ha (sacred breath) – Om (sacred sound), because the space you live and work in will affect your emotions, functionality, production, efficiency and overall wellbeing.

Illustrated Heirloom Memoirs – Documenting the highlights of your life is also a form of therapy. It’s like journaling 2.0. I take students through very specific writing exercises and we play with different illustration techniques to create something special. The Illustrated Heirloom Memoir concept emerged after the passing of my mother. I realized there was so much I didn’t know about her. When you document your life and pass it on, it takes you on a journey of recollection. I’m helping you bring out your moments of joy, your lessons, your family heritage. This is something your family members will cherish.

All of my classes and services are now available online. Sign up for a class, workshop or consultation that fits your schedule. I look forward to meeting you. Blessings, Zoe

Or place a glass of water in front of you and put your hands over the water during your prayer. These are the two ways to infuse water with your vision. The water then goes into your body – you drink it, or it goes into your body through osmosis in your skin. The memory of your vision will leave your body but stay in the water and travel where it wilt, influencing all who encounter it.

A brief History of Health & Healing Through Water from Kevin Ebner

– Water’s healing capacity as a medical treatment is well-documented historically. Hippocrates, a Greek physician known as the father of modern medicine, was “one of the first to state that nature should be used to heal the body” (Buchman 67). It should be no surprise that Hippocrates was a strong advocate of baths as a medical treatment nearly 2500 years ago. Although many spas or bath houses are culturally thought to be first and foremost places of social gathering, their original intentions were as places of healing and cleansing. Physicians often worked in bath houses to administer days of treatment to sick patients and give professional advice to those with less significant maladies. Treatments varied depending on condition and ailment. The bath house or spa offered a variety of options for healing such as hot or cold water baths, sea or mineral water treatments, showers, steam and sauna rooms, imbibing fluids, or exercise and therapy in the waters. Many of the illnesses and injuries that prevailed from ancient times were cured or assuaged with ‘the waters.’

Water has the ability to restore health in a natural way which can balance out many necessary human functions, whereas medicinal treatment often looks to fix an ill by introducing artificial support to the body. In this manner many of the water treatments listed here have a holistic approach that is better for the long term health of a patient. Plus water-cures are often much more affordable than drug treatments. At the turn of the last century many physicians still studied water cures for their benevolent power, but today hydrotherapy is often overlooked in lieu of other more costly or more invasive treatment. –

Year of the Minimalist, 2023. Have you ever wanted to be a minimalist, but weren’t sure where to start? If you’ve wanted to downsize, simplify, and gain clarity, now is your chance. I’ve created the 5 week Minimalist Sanctuary Healthy Home Challenge for everyone who is ready to take the leap into a healthier, easier, and more successful life. This is the fastest, easiest way to change and improve your life forever… scientists all agree!

Consumerism has always been a large part of our culture. Someone even coined the expression retail therapy, promoting the idea of mood enhancement through shopping. Of course the high of shopping for new stuff, lasts only hours or a day or two at most, then more shopping has to be done to maintain the high. Not only is this a false sense of joy, and expensive, but one often ends up with stuff they do not need. The stuff piles up in your home taking up space and energy. Instead of seeking temporary therapy through consuming and buying more stuff why not create a permanent sense of joy, peace and wellbeing through the art of minimalism.

Make 2023 the year you become a minimalist. Becoming a minimalist does not mean you have to live like a monk, get rid of all of your possessions, or not buy anything ever again. Instead you will be creating your sanctuary, a living space that only contains items related to your true essence and personal style.

Bring minimalism to the office.

Why not organize, downsize, and declutter all parts of your life? This challenge will help you at the office too. You can use all of the tips and tools from the challenge to streamline your office, helping you be more productive, efficient and in turn successful.

Being a minimalist makes traveling easier as well.

The more traveling I do, the more I realize I can survive with very little. My life becomes easier and more efficient while traveling with the bare essentials. It seems each time I travel I realize I’ve packed something that I never use. As I downsize my suitcase my travel experience becomes easier and certainly lighter.

Are you ready to make 2023 your best year yet? Take the 5 week challenge and step into a new and improved life. You won’t regret it. If you aren’t the do it yourself type, I offer in person or Skype consultations. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season, peace, love and joy… always!

Water Is Medicine

It is common knowledge that we can not survive without water, but few are aware of the enormous healing powers water holds for us, water is medicine. My personal obsession started as a child. At a very early age I began to dream of swimming with dolphins, sailing crystal blue seas, and luxuriating in exotic spas. In the eighties doctors started telling their patients to drink eight glasses of water a day, and so I carried a bottle of water with me everywhere I went from the age of twelve, and still do to this day.

As an adult I made it to the sea, and the dolphins and created my own spa at home with a weekly bath ritual. For years now water has been my medicine and I had no idea I was giving myself a therapeutic treatment. I can be in the worst mood and go the beach or the river or the hot springs, and feel completely revived afterwards, like a new person. Author of The Blue Mind, Wallace J. Nichols has compiled research on the affects water has on our well being. According to him spending time in, on, under or near water can be beneficial to our overall health.

So pour yourself a glass of cool clean water, have a cup of tea, give yourself a facial steam, take a bath, go for a sail, canoe on a lake, scuba and snorkel, white water raft down the river, take a nap on the beach, swim laps anywhere you can, cook a pot of your favorite nutritious soup, take a steam sauna, play in a waterfall, take an invigorating shower, write poetry by the stream. Whatever life brings your way, make sure to incorporate water as much as you can. You won’t regret it.

I’ve always been a proud tree hugger and so can you, but why stop at hugging? Hug a tree, plant a tree, give a tree, eat from trees, nap under a tree, climb a tree, listen to trees, love the tress. Trees are the oldest living beings on our planet. They are the wise ones, the ancient seers, the eternal givers. When all humans on the Earth speak the language of the stars, the seas, the trees, thy work will be done. If you haven’t ever connected with a tree, give it a try. Try meditating under a tree, listen closely for bird song, the breeze against the leaves, and any other natural sounds in and around your chosen tree. Touch and smell your tree, then say hello. Is it strange to talk to trees? Perhaps for some, to others it is as natural as talking to another person. It is another being after all. The tree of life, the trees give life, what would December be without our beloved Christmas tree?
